Here are the Jumps for the month of January 2008. Happy new year, and enjoi.
- www.poolga.com - Poolga is a worldwide collection of designer’s and illustrator’s background for the iPhone and iPod Touch and it is one of the best collections of iPhone and iPod Touch backgrounds I have ever seen. Artistic, clever, strong design and concepts. These blow away any iPhone flickr pool by miles. Some truly inspirational work.
- www.typechart.com - Typechart is a great resource and fun site for any web designer. The site lets you flip through and retrieve CSS for specific font styles and variants and see which ones work on a Mac and a PC. I can see this site coming in handy when explaining to clients how fonts work on the web.
- www.gridr.atomeye.com - Gridr Buildrr is a great site to test out your grid based web layouts on. The site, which was developed by Tom Genoni, is similar to most other grid-testing web apps. The only difference is this site allows you to drag and drop ad boxes into your layout and has much more robust features. Definitely worth checking out.
- The 300 Million Dollar Button - This is an amazing article about the downside of trying to force a user to do something they don’t want to do.
- www.whitehouse.gov - Another addition in the family of Obama Campaign sites… everything this guy touches seems to get an extremely relevant face lift. Change has come even to the whitehouse website… and man is it beauitful.
FYI - I am going to be expanding The Jumps™ with a few different categories (like blogs, apps, web layouts, etc) in the next few months, so be on the look out for that!
