I wish I would have thought of this first.

I just stumbled on a great social network centered around connecting the two camps of the net: Designers and Developers. The site is called Collab Finder and not only does it have a great grid/helvetica based layout but it takes a great approach to connecting creatives. The folks over at BoyGirlTalk.com made it. The site gets right to the point by only listing what skill sets you are good at and links to projects you have worked on. There are some top notch designers and developers on the site like Kevin Kearney (hulu.com), Zach Klein (of vimeo.com), Koi Vinh (subtraction.com). One of the features that is really great (and I have no clue how they pulled this off… but its awesome) is your designer/developer ranking. Once you fill in your profile it takes into account your project links, skills and recognition on the web and lets you know where you rank amongst the other designers/developers on the site. Currently I am ranked 351st! Looks like I got some work to do.
